Dutchess County resident Shyquan J. Collins, age 32, of Poughkeepsie, was charged on Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.

According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the task force, Collins, was investigated for more than three months in the town and city of Poughkeepsie for the sale of cocaine.

Agents conducted numerous narcotic transactions with  Collins in both jurisdictions, Harris said.

Following his arrest, Collins was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail for arraignment in both jurisdictions.

"The Drug Task Force continues to warn members of the community that fentanyl is often mixed with cocaine, which has led to hundreds of overdose deaths in Dutchess County over the past several years," said Harris.
